Happy Friday! I can't believe we are already done with our second week of school! We are getting into a "groove" here in Exploring Music 6 as we are continuing to learn, grow, and develop together as musicians!
We began our week together by learning a piece called "Spanish Theme" which uses the first three notes that we have been learning on guitar: E, F and G. We practiced our "Spanish Theme" song in duos with an accompaniment track and had our first performance quiz of the quarter on Tuesday. Congratulations to all of the musicians in both classes - everyone had an outstanding performance!

We took a break from actually playing the guitar in the middle of the week to learn a little bit about the history of the instrument, genres of music that implement guitar, and some famous players. Ask your student if they remember who the example was from the 1960's time period! Some of these examples may even sound familiar to you!

We finished up the week by expanding our musical "toolbox" by learning three more notes: B, C & D. In just two short weeks, we are now we are able to play six notes on two different strings! I'm thrilled with the progress we are making! Check back next week to learn more!
