Ms. Barkin is from Uxbridge, Massachusetts; a small town in the Worcester County. Ms. Barkin received her Bachelors of Music in Music Education from Berklee College of Music in Boston in May of 2013.
As a vocalist, Ms. Barkin has performed with various ensembles including both District and AllState level chorus several times. She has worked with various school and church ensembles arranging for them, playing in, and running rehearsals. Ms. Barkin has worked as a private vocal instructor, a substitute teacher in the public school system, and is the co-director of a middle school vocal group "Take Note", based in Grafton, whose most recent performance was at Walt Disney World. Ms. Barkin is very excited to be working in the town of Stoughton this year!
Outside the field of music, Ms. Barkin has worked full time as a manager at West End Creamery, a family owned farm and ice cream business for 8 years. She is an active member of NAFME (National Association For Music Educators) and enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her puppy named Coda (a musical term!) on her boat at her lake house in New Hampshire.
