I can't believe that the term has come to an end! I have enjoyed working with the Term 1 Exploring Music 6 students immensely, and I want to thank them for all of their hard work during our journey of Exploring Music! During our final week together, we focused on creating our own accompaniment tracks. We discussed what an accompaniment track was and each created our own track for "Ode to Joy" utilizing smart instruments on our Ipads. Today (Thursday) we even got the opportunity to play the "Ode to Joy" melody on our guitar while the accompaniment track we created on Garageband played in the background! The students had a vast array of musical styles represented in their final projects. Some students created "techno" tracks, some created R&B sounding tracks, while some chose to stick to the traditional sound of the "Ode to Joy" song. Each project was well done! Congratulations! Throughout our 9 week journey of Exploring Music 6, we have learned how to play new instruments (some we had never even heard of before!), learned how to play as an team or ensemble, learned how to playing musically by adding in dynamics to our music, learned about different musical symbols, and we have even created our own music, instruments, and products using guitars, percussion, and music technology! I wish each student well in their continued journey to learn another language! |
