Our time together this week was spent taking a look at what jingles are and why they are important. We kicked off the week trying to match slogans to popular companies. We watched some older jingles and discussed the importance of lyrics (or words) in jingles. We learned that jingles are short songs that get stuck in your head that are often used to advertise a product. We decided that lyrics in jingles were important because they were able to describe the product being sold and make the consumer really want to purchase that product.
We spent the rest of the week creating our own products in groups, writing lyrics, and composing a catchy jingle for our product using the Garageband app on the Ipad. Some of the products that we created included products called: Hot Feet, The Fixherupper 3000, and JetBag, and FindIt! Each product has a great jingle to go along with it!
