This week in Exploring Music 6 we had a very productive, fun, musical week! We kicked off the week by having our very first performance quiz of the term. Students were asked to perform a piece called "Spanish Theme Song" in duos. "Spanish Theme Song" used three notes on the first string: E, F, and G. I want to congratulate all of my students on a great first performance quiz! This was the first time that many students played an instrument in front of other people. It was certainly the first time students performed on a new instrument in front of an audience! Congratulations 6h graders! To check your student's results please check out ParentPortal.
Tuesday was a very exciting day in Room100! Students added three new notes to their musical toolbox. In order to practice our new notes B, C and D, students played a game on the Ipads called FlashNote Derby! Each student was a jocky on a horse who raced against another horse. In order to advance in the race, students had to correctly name and identify the note that the program was showing them. This was a fun way to learn about musical notation!
